Our Origins

We are a French expatriate couple, and when we arrived in Manchester, we were frustrated not to find the authentic flavours of the pastries we grew up with — especially ones that were halal, or offered gluten-free and vegan options.

The Beginning of Grué

We started Grué at home, almost by accident, sharing our love for authentic French pastries with friends and neighbours.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we quickly decided to professionalise our passion to bring high-quality, artisanal pastries to a wider audience.

Our Philosophy

Today, each creation is crafted from carefully selected ingredients and lovingly prepared by our pastry chef, co-founder of the brand. At Grué, we celebrate the essence of ingredients — the bean, the raw material, the transformation.

Every creation balances French tradition with Mediterranean inspiration, made with sincerity and respect for everyone’s tastes and values.

Our Atelier & Patisserie

Our laboratory in Salford is where every creation comes to life, from inspiration to finished pastry. Now open in Altrincham, our patisserie & café offers a daily selection of pastries, sandwiches, cakes and coffee, all made fresh.
